URFA - Continuing the sit-in demonstration in front of the courthouse, Emine Şenyaşar repeated her demand for justice with the words: "We have suffered a lot of persecution, we should end this persecution now."
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached 802. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Mother Emine Şenyaşar came to the courthouse from her house in Pirsûs(Suruç) and started the sit-in. Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) Riha Branch executives visited mother Şenyaşar.
'WE SHOULD END THE OPPRESSION NOW'
Emphasizing that she will continue her sit-in, Emine Şenyaşar said: "Ferit is in Ankara, I am here. My Fadıl (Fadıl Şenyaşar) is not guilty of any crime, he is being held in prison for nothing. He has no crime. Do the administrators have no conscience? My son should be released as soon as possible. My children are not guilty. This is the government now. The government should not support the perpetrators of the massacre. This place has become my home. I thank everyone who supported me. People are unable to speak the truth because they are afraid. We have suffered a lot of persecution, we should end this persecution now."
ÖHD Riha(Urfa) Branch Co-chair İbrahim Halil Öyke stated that they did not want to leave the mother alone because Ferit Şenyaşar was in Ankara. Öyke emphasized that they will be in solidarity with the family until the struggle for justice reaches its goal.
