NEWS CENTER - The Lavrio camp, where exiles from Kurdistan and Turkey have lived for years, was raided by the Greek police. During the raid, 50 Kurdish refugees were detained to be sent to other camps.

 

The camp in the Greek city of Lavrio, where mostly Kurdish refugees live, was raided by the Greek police early in the morning. The police, who entered the camp by breaking the doors and windows, forcibly removed more than 50 Kurdish refugees, including women and children, from the camp and detained them to be transferred to other camps. This raid, which took place before the NATO meeting, was described as "terrorists" by the media affiliated with the Greek government and served as a "gesture" to Turkey.

 

KURDS WILL PROTEST

 

On the other hand, the Democratic Kurdish Cultural Center of Greece, which denied the Greek Ministry of Asylum and Migration statement that the refugees had voluntarily evacuated the refugee camp in Lavrio, called for a protest today. Refugees in the camp and the Democratic Kurdish Cultural Center in Greece will condemn this action of the Greek police and the Greek Ministry of Asylum and Migration and will make a detailed statement in the coming days. At 17.00 today, Kurds will protest this attitude of the Greek police in front of Akademia Athens.
