NEWS CENTER – Commemoration events for PKK’s leading cadres Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun will be held in several cities. 

 

The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) held its 12th Extraordinary Congress between May 5–7, following “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society” made by Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan on February 27.

 

The PKK also announced the passing of its leading cadres Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun, and noted that the congress was dedicated to their memory.

 

Kaytan and Altun will be commemorated on May 13, 14, and 15 in Tuzluçayır, Ankara. Another commemoration will take place on May 17 at Seyît Rıza Square in Dêrsim.

 

On May 18, a commemoration will be held at Şêx Seîd (Dağkapı) Square in Amed (Diyarbakır). Similar programs are expected to be organized in many other cities as well. The families of Altun and Kaytan are also expected to attend the commemorative events.
