ANKARA - HDK Youth Assembly said in a statement for revolutionary leaders who lost their lives in May, "Our word against fascism in an era of blatant attacks on revolutionary values and cemeteries will be to increase our organization."
In a statement the HDK Youth Council said: "It is a great source of strength for all those who struggle for living together with the spirit of freedom, equality and solidarity, to have such symbols represented by the Martyrs of 18 May. We are deeply committed to the memory of Kaypakkaya, Karer and the Fours. Our commitment to the memory of them will be seen in our decisive march on the path they illuminated."
The statement continued: "Comrade İbrahim Kaypakkaya, who fell martyr and took his place in history on 18 May 1973 did not fell to torture and would be the light for his comrades in the revolution path."
The statement also paid tribute to Haki Karer who fell martyr in Antep on 18 May 1977 and to the "4 of Diyarbakir prison", Ferhat Kurtay, Eşref Anyık, Mahmut Zengin and Necmi Öner (The Fours) who immolate themselves on 18 May 1982.
