ŞIRNEX - Health labourers Şeyhmus Dursun, Eyüp Ergen and Abdulaziz Yural, who were murdered during the curfews, were commemorated at their graves and promised to increase their struggle.

Ambulance driver Şeyhmus Dursun, nurse Eyüp Ergen and health worker Abdulaziz Yural, who were killed during the curfews in Cizîr (Cizre) district of Şirnex (Şırnak) between 2015-2016, were commemorated at their graves. Families of the labourers, unions, political parties and associations attended the commemoration at Asri Cemetery in Cizre district.

Prayers were recited at the commemoration that started with a minute of silence.

PROMISE TO INCREASE THE STRUGGLE

SES Şirnex Branch Co-Chair Samet Kaya said: "Each of them was torn from their lives while providing health services to their people. The commemoration is not only a reminder but also a renewal of our determination to build peace in these lands. We once again promise that we will raise the struggle for peace."

SES Co-chair Sıddık Akın also stated that health labourers lost their lives for the sake of providing health service to the public and that the best action of health labourers is the act of keeping alive and that their colleagues were killed while providing this service under blockade.

PEACE EMPHASIS

DEM Party MP Newroz Uysal Aslan also stated that the struggle of the health labourers must be increased. "What we will do now is to struggle more for the peace for which these friends gave their lives. Today we should not mourn, but we should herald the peace they bequeathed to us," she said.

The commemoration ended with carnations left at the cemetery.
