AMED - "The meeting that took place in İmralı has once again demonstrated the hope and willpower for a democratic solution," says TJA.
The Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) made a written statement on the meeting between Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MPs Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder and PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 28 December.
The statement read: "We salute with love and respect this will, which, despite being kept in severe/absolute isolation conditions for 26 years, has never compromised for a moment on the ideal of a democratic solution and freedom for the people of Turkey and the Middle East, by saying 'We Will Become Free Together'.
As the Free Women's Movement, we know that the only solution power that will take us out of this trap that oppresses all peoples, especially women, youth, children, and religious groups through wars, massacres, and massacres by the hands of male-dominated nation states, and that has brought no results other than chaos, crisis, and destruction at the stage it has reached, is the People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. From Turkey to Palestine; from Afghanistan to Iran; from Syria to Rojava; the path to an honorable peace against war can be opened with the democratic politics he himself pointed out.
COMMON STRUGGLE EMPHASIS
We have full faith that the solution to wars can be provided through common struggles and alliances that the forces of democracy will build with hope and courage. The mentality that says either death or surrender in the Middle East has gone bankrupt. The solution will be possible on the 3rd Way, which is the guarantee of the freedom and equality of women and peoples, on the ground of democratic politics. Those who will build and protect this ground are undoubtedly the socialist, revolutionary, democrat, feminist and anti-capitalist social movements and individuals in Turkey, as well as our international alliances.
It is a truth that we will emerge from the wars where the greatest destruction is inflicted on women with our struggle for freedom; and that the solution will be provided by the self-power of us women and peoples who are being tried to be imprisoned in these wars. As TJA, the struggle that we argue depends on breaking the isolation on the society by breaking the isolation on the People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is a part of this truth. The meeting that took place in İmralı has once again demonstrated the hope and willpower for a democratic solution. Undoubtedly, the freedom resistance of the women and peoples who are struggling to lift the isolation has been nourished by this hope and will continue to struggle to lift the absolute isolation. We know that the stability that will transform this step into a transparent, reliable, honorable, permanent peace and democratic solution based on social values ??will also come with resistance.
We will continue to insist on our demand for an honorable peace and democratic solution with an attitude that is equal to our leading role. We call on all women and the democratic public, wherever they are, to join us on this path where we will all become free together.
