NEWS CENTER - Members of the France-Kurdistan  Association, who participated in the Amed Newroz, stated that Abdullah Öcalan's historic call should be supported by everyone and emphasised that "Abdullah Öcalan's freedom is important for everyone".

Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" continues to reverberate around the world. France-Kurdistan Association members Nadine Garcia and Laure Greaume made evaluations on Abdullah Öcalan's call.

After the murder of Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbin) and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahi) in Paris, the capital of France, in 2013, the France-Kurdistan Association was established. Association makes exhibitions, meetings to tell Kurdish issue in France and ask justice also send letters to political prisoners in Turkey.

'WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE KURDISH PEOPLE'

Nadine Garcia, a member of the association, said, "We created this association to learn the truth and ask justice. We wanted to be in solidarity with the struggle of the Kurdish people. In our association, we organise conferences, meetings and various actions-activities such as writing letters to political prisoners in Turkey." Nadine Garcia stated that they followed Abdullah Öcalan's call on 27 February with great importance and said, "We think that the call will bring peace and a free and better world."

'EUROPE SHOULD SUPPORT THE KURDISH PEOPLE MORE'

Nadine Garcia pointed out that despite the PKK's declaration of a ceasefire following Abdullah Öcalan's call, Turkey continued its attacks and said, "It is not easy with your government. European governments should support the Kurdish people more. They support Kurdish people in Rojava but now they do not support. It is very important that they provide this support. Because this process means peace for everyone."

'THE GOVERNMENT MUST STOP THE ATTACKS'

Association member and feminist activist Laure Greaume said that Abdullah Öcalan's call is important and historic.

Laure Greaume said, "As an association, we support this call. Because we think that the Kurdish people need democracy and their identity, culture and language should be recognised." Laure Greaume stated that Turkey's failure to take steps after the historic call shows that the government is not ready for peace and said, "We want a development to take place. We know that the peoples need peace and we hope that the Turkish government will stop the attacks."

Underlining that Abdullah Öcalan's freedom is important for everyone, Laure Greaume said: "The Kurdish people need to establish a healthy dialogue with Abdullah Öcalan. He is a charismatic leader for many people. Many Kurds believe in his call and the PKK should be removed from the 'terrorist' list. We stand in solidarity with the Kurds and believe in peace."
