Health Workers' Union announces its demands for Collective Agreement

NEWS CENTER - Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES) demanded the recognition of labourers' right to collective bargaining with strike before the 8th Term Collective Labour Agreement negotiations and announced their demands.

The demands were listed in the statements made in Ankara, Amed (Diyarbakır), Adana, Wan (Van) and Istanbul.

DEMANDS

Demands of the workers as follows:

"*Not performance, additional payment, base, incentive, additional raise, but a basic wage reflected in retirement above the poverty line for all health and social service labourers.

*Reflecting the additional increase to pensioners and all public pensioners by putting an end to the practice which was given as an additional increase in the last collective agreement, which was not reflected to pensioners and retirees and which made retirement even more unrealistic.

* Enact a trade union law with the right to free bargaining and collective bargaining with strikes.

* Health services are covered by heavy and dangerous work. The actual service period (attrition share) should be paid to all labourers in full over 90 days per year and should also cover the past years.

* As a first step towards democratisation of working life, the method of appointing administrators should be abandoned. Let the candidates who have the appropriate merit be elected for one or two years with the votes of the labourers.

* Shift, call-out and overwork wages should be increased by 2 times.

* All labourers working in the field of health should be included in the health services class.

* Employees working in university to hospitals should be given the right to transfer.

* In order to end the violence against health labourers, ‘the health system that produces violence’ should be changed. Take steps for the construction of a new health system in partnership with organisations in the field and all political parties.

* All contracted employees should be included in the scope of 657 4/a by employing permanent and secure personnel at the OECD average.

* All kinds of expenses in Family Health Centres providing public health services should be covered by the state

* Occupational health and safety measures must be complied with at workplaces. Each trade union representing the labourers should appoint a member to the ‘worker health and safety’ committee.

* Dismissed health and social service labourers who do not have a final judicial decision against them should be reinstated immediately."
