Speaking about the phone call he made with her son, Emine Şenyaşar said: "My son is being held in solitary confinement for the last 3 years. His father is dead. His brothers are dead. How can he be doing? We have nothing to do. We went to Ankara and İstanbul and came back with nothing. They destroyed my family but still they are trying to hurt us more. They are holding another one of my sons in prison to rot behind those bars. They banned us from the grounds of the courthouse. We are being bullied by the government."

Ferit Şenyaşar said: "We have suffered injustice. We were wronged. My brother has been unlawfully held in solitary confinement for three years. He is waiting for the day when justice will be served. He is not losing hope. He is resisting. We are trying to help him be heard. We are struggling for the tyranny to end."
