The United States killed a senior al-Qaeda executive with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack in Syria's Idlib region, which is under the control of Turkey.

 

Fox News reported that on September 20, a senior executive of Al Qaeda named Salim Abu Ahmed was killed in the Idlib region of Syria, by a drone attack by the United States. The channel suggested that Salim was responsible for planning, financing and directing al-Qaeda attacks.

 

Defense Department (Pentagon) sources told the channel that there was no indication of any civilian casualties in the attack.

 

The US periodically carries out attacks targeting al-Qaeda elements in Idlib. Previously, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in an air operation organized by the USA at the zero point of the Turkish border.
