ANKARA - The fact that former DMM Co-Mayor Gültan Kışanak, who is on trial in the Kobanê Case, held in the same prison at the same time with Sakine Cansız, who was murdered in Paris, has become the reason for the continuation of his detention.

 

A decision of continuation of detention was given for the 21 defendants on grounds that they are at flight risk and that there is strong suspicion of crime consistant with concrete evidence.

 

REASON FOR CONTINUATION OF DETENTION

 

The reason for the continuation of detention of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality (DBB) former Co-Mayor Gültan Kışanak was grounded on the fact that she was held in the same prison at the same time once, with Sakine Cansız who was murdered in Paris which was based on the statement of a witness who told that Kışanak was respected a lot in the organisation for being held in the same prison with Cansız as well as other statements of witnesses, some of which are anonymous.
