NEWS CENTER -  DTK Co-chair Berdan Öztürk stated that AKP-MHP committed crimes against humanity with the use of chemical weapons, and said, "The system that Erdoğan represents has collapsed."

 

The war, which AKP Chair Tayyip Erdoğan started on July 24, 2015 by denying the Kurdish issue, continues with the threat of an operation in the Federated Kurdistan Region and attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria. The operation launched on 23 April in the Metîna, Zap and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region continues with chemical weapons attacks. The AKP, which attacked the Afrin Canton on January 20, 2018, and Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê on October 9, 2019, is threatening to attack Northern and Eastern Syria. 

 

Democratic Society Congress Co-chair Berdan Öztürk told that the war policies of AKP will be the end of the AKP. Öztürk said: "Their plan to collapse the Kurds aimed to get results fast. As the Kurdish resistance grew, they got stuck. They still continue to attack, but the plan did not work. AKP-MHP is seriously ill, they continue their attacks to prolong their life. After all, they have no policy other than their hostility towards Kurds. It has no use for the peoples of Turkey. They consumed everything. They are finished in every way, they are exhausted. They are also economically exhausted. World states are no longer taking Turkey seriously. They have finished Turkish politics. Nobody takes Tayyip Erdogan seriously. This system is no longer serious. They do polls every day, their votes are going further down everyday. Even people inside the AKP is saying “enough is enough”. His plans collapsed. Kurds frustrated all his plans."

 

Speaking about what must be done after this period, Öztürk said: "First of all, a strong democracy front should be built against fascism. We should not rely on the elections. Their downfall is possible with the strengthening of the democratic alliance. That's why we say it's not just the Kurds that have a problem. The peoples of Turkey experience all kinds of oppression as a whole. The isolation in Imrali is kept alive for every individual in Turkey. The Kurds are used as an excuse, but the peoples of Turkey must understand this reality. We must fight together for an equal and free life, for a democratic Turkey. They did not and will not achieve results with genocide, massacres and arrests. The way is clear, the method is clear, the address of the solution is clear. The solution is dialogue.The solution is not America, not Putin. If there is a problem, it is inside Turkey. Looking for the solution outside is not a solution. For this reason, we should not allow the future of the peoples of Turkey to be sold. Our call is for the forces of democracy. We call for the strengthening of the alliance of democracy. The key to the solution is Mr. Öcalan. The resistance and paradigm of Mr. Öcalan is a great chance for Turkey and the Middle East. There is no other option for peace."
