KOCAELİ - Scores of HDP members were detained with raids on their homes in Kocaeli and İstanbul.

 

As part of an investigation carried out by the Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the houses of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) Kocaeli provincial and district administrators were raided early this morning. HDP Darıca District Co-chair Erkan Şık, Dilovası District Co-chair Kadir Demir, Gebze District Co-chair Menderes Yıldız, provincial executive Deniz Atalay, Kadir Daşdemir, Darıca Municipal Council member Erol Ada, party members Arif Demirkaya and Seyyat Kaya were detained in the operation.

 

As part of the same investigation, many houses were raided in Istanbul as well. In the house raids in Istanbul, Şehmuz Işık, Deniz Serhat and Cihan Kavçin were detained in Kartal, Tuzla and Sultanbeyli districts.

 

The building of the Anatolia Association for Assistance and Solidarity with the Families Who Lost their Relatives (ANYAKAY-DER) in Istanbul was raided last night. The police, who broke the door of the association office, stormed the office. While computers and books belonging to the association were confiscated, many managers and members of the association were detained.
