VAN- A group of Syrian refugees who wanted to cross into Turkey were tortured by Iranian human smugglers.

Footage revealed showing that a group of Syrian refugees who wanted to cross from Iran to Turkey were tortured by human smugglers at the Iran-Turkey border. Human smugglers first stack a group of young people they caught on the Iran-Turkey border under a rock, and then pile up rocks over them until they can't breathe. The screams of the refugees captured under the rocks is heard on the video.

THEIR EARS WERE CUT OFF

Following the torture, the smugglers sent these videos to the families of the refugees demanding ransom. In the video it is seen that one of the smugglers cut the ears off a refugee as a threat. The families later agreed to send the ransom and than the refugees were released. It was learned that some of these refugees were able to cross over to Turkey and some were sent to Iraq over Iran.

TRACES OF TORTURE

It was stated that there were broken bones and traces of torture on the bodies of 12 refugees who survived the ordeal.
