ANKARA – The mandate of the Parliamentary Commission has been extended by an additional two months by unanimous vote.
Established in parliament as part of the Peace and Democratic Society Process, the commission convened today on the grounds that it would not be able to complete its joint report by 31 December, the date when its original mandate was set to expire.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Havva Kok Arslan and Murat Sevecen delivered presentations analyzing the speeches made throughout the commission’s meetings. Both speakers focused on similarities, differences and key necessities within the discourse. Members of parliament also drew attention to the presentations and the issues raised.
Following the discussions, a vote was held, resulting in the decision to extend the commission’s working period by two months. The decision was adopted unanimously. The meeting concluded after the vote.
