NEWS CENTER- Iranian women, who came together in Istanbul and Izmir for Masha Amini, who was killed by the morality police in Iran, gave the message "We will not surrender".

Protests continue for Mahsa Amini, who was beaten to death by the morality police in Iran on the grounds that part of her hair was visible. Iranian women living in Istanbul wanted to protest for Amini in Taksim. Dozens of people who came together in Taksim Square faced police intervention. Despite all the obstacles, the women who took a walk on Istiklal Street were besieged by the police. Despite the blockade, many people marched to Istiklal Street, they carried photographs of Mahsa Amini and banners with her name and they  shouted the slogans of "Freedom for women, no to forced hijab, we are Mahsa Amini" in Persian.

Iranians, who faced frequent police intervention, were threatened with the revocation of their residence permits. Despite all the attacks, nearly 20 women who continued to march were detained. The names of the detainees and where they were taken could not be learned.

'WE WILL NOT SURRENDER'

Condemning the intervention of the police during the march, an Iranian woman said: “We have values and we do not want to surrender. We all have one Mahsa in our house. This massacre could happen to anyone. We all have people we love. We are women, mothers and sisters, we are all Mahsa. We will not surrender. our sisters are being killed because they object to the forced hijab. They are fighting for their rights in their lives and just want freedom. We don't want our heads to be forced to wear a hijab."

The women dispersed after the march.

IZMIR

Iranian women living in Izmir also protested the murder of Mahsa Amini. In addition to Iranian women, HDP MP Musa Piroğlu, HDP İzmir provincial administrators and women's organisations also participated in the demonstration. Photographs of Mahsa Amini, "Iranian women are not alone, long live our international women's struggle" and "Women, life, freedom" in the statement carrying banners and "Life, woman, freedom" slogans were shouted.

Iranian women made the following statement: “They just want us to be Muslims and do what they want. It is obligatory to wear hijabs from the age of 7. You can't even go to school if you don't wear a hijab. 7 year old girls have to  wear a hijab just to study. As we get older, our fundamental rights and freedoms depend on permissions. In Iran, women do not have the right to freely marry or go abroad. Morality police are everywhere. If some hair appears on our head under hijab, the Moral Police can say that we didn't wear a hijab and attack us. The same thing can happen to all women in Iran. Women are arrested for not wearing hijab. Women can not only be arrested, but also they can be cursed and even they can be killed and they were killed. We say no to the Islamic Republic. They have been killing people for 43 years. We want to get that regime out of Iran and become free. Everyone should be able to freely practice their own religion. "

OPPRESSIVE REGIMES ARE THE ENEMY OF WOMEN

Stating that this massacre once again showed that all oppressive regimes created themselves through misogyny, HDP MP Musa Piroğlu said: “All oppressive regimes in the Middle East regard all kinds of attacks as legitimate if they are Kurds and women. The attack on Mahsa Amini is no different from ISIS gangs selling Yazidi women in slave markets."

CANDLES WERE LIT

After the announcement, carnations were left in the square in memory of Amini and candles were lit. The police intervened against the demonstrators on the pretext that it was forbidden to light candles in front of the monument, causing tension. Women condemned the murder by shouting slogans in Cumhuriyet Square.
