DİYARBAKIR - Stating that the attack against Nagihan Akarsel was aimed at the freedom struggle of Kurdish women, Jineology Magazine said: "The day is the day to carry forward the idea of freedom and resistance that Nagihan defended, carried and developed."

 

Jineology Magazine made a written statement regarding the journalist and academician Nagihan Akarsel, a member of the Jineology Research Center, who was murdered in front of her house in Slemani in Federated Kurdistan Region. In the statement with the title “We know the mentality that murdered Nagihan Akarsel who is a member of our Editorial Board of Jineology Magazine!”, the magazine called on all revolutionaries and women's movements to defend Nagihan's legacy, to grow women's science and revolution, and to fight for the enlightenment of the dark forces behind the massacre.

 

'THE ATTACK IS THE CONTINUATION OF THE ATTACKS OF MALE DOMINATION'

 

The statement is as follows: "Nagihan Akarsel, who pioneered in jineology for the construction of the intellectual power that brings women and peoples together with the revolution, especially in Kurdistan and the Middle East, was assassinated in Slemani. The murder of Nagihan, embodied in this philosophy, after the women who took to the streets with the philosophy of 'Jin Jiyan Azadi' were attacked by the male-dominated system that murdered the Kurdish woman Jîna Mahsa Aminî in Iran, is a continuation of the fascist, male-dominated attacks.

 

SHE HAS BECOME THE MEMORY OF JINEOLOGY

 

Nagihan, who has made great efforts for the women's freedom struggle all her life, has played a leading role with great efforts for the development of jineology, the science of the women's revolution, and to unite the women of the world. Nagihan, with her intellectual, semantic and actional studies in Jineology, with her whole life that turned into resistance and struggle, has accelerated the enlightenment of women on the axis of Jineology, with lighting one of the biggest torches on the way to the truth of women, which is desired to be left in the dark. Nagihan has been the memory of the history of women's resistance and Jineology.

 

NAGIHAN BECAME ONE OF THE LEADING IDENTITIES OF THE REVOLUTION

 

The male-dominated genocidal mentality and its incarnation as the nation-state is trying to break the social resistance and impose total slavery by specifically targeting and murdering women, their will, their bodies and the leading identities of the revolution. The assassination of our friend Nagihan who is one of these pioneering identities of the revolution, is not independent of her Kurdish and female identity. This attack is an attack on the Kurdistan Women's Freedom Movement and its freedom struggle, which led the world women's revolution in the 21st century.

 

THE IDEA OF RESISTANCE SHOULD BE DEVELOPED

 

The day is the day to defend and the idea of freedom and resistance that Nagihan defended, carried and developed. It is the day to organise anger and pain, to turn this anger and pain into a reason for struggle, and to ensure women's freedom and women's enlightenment around the idea of Jineology.

We, as the Editorial Board of the Magazine of Jineology; In the person of Nagihan Akarsel, a member of the Editorial Board of our Magazine and a member of the Jineology Research Center, we angrily condemn this vile and planned attack targeting the women's revolution and freedom, and the organised power of women. And we call on all revolutionary movements, women's movements and women of the world to defend the legacy that Nagihan inherited, to expand the science of women and the revolution, and to fight for the enlightenment of the dark forces behind this massacre.
