URFA - Stating that the attacks of Turkey is not a new thing, Kobanê Military Council Co-chair Mehmûd Demo, said: "We have the right to fight and defend ourselves. We have responded before, we will respond again."

The attacks launched by Turkey on Northern and Eastern Syria on November 20 continue. The main target of the attacks is Kobanê which hosted the historical resistance that ISIS suffered in 2014. Kobanê Military Council Co-Chair Mehmûd Dêmo evaluated the recent situation in Kobanê to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA).

'TAKSİM ATTACK IS A CONSPIRACY TO WIN THE ELECTIONS'

Starting his speech by commemorating those who lost their lives in Turkey's attacks and the bombing in Istanbul, Dêmo said that the bombing in Istanbul was carried out by Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MIT). This was Erdogan's conspiracy to win the people of Turkey and the elections. Noting that the YPG/YPJ is the one-to-one combatants against terrorism, Demo said, "In the fight against terrorism, we have suffered great losses. Our soldiers and friends sacrificed their lives to save the world from terrorism. The whole world is witness to this."

'WE WILL DEFEND THESE PEOPLES ONE MORE TIME'

Stating that the MIT's Taksim attack was carried out to create a ground for attacking Northern and Eastern Syria, especially Kobanê, Demo said that Turkey has been attacking Kurd's lands from Shehba to Derik with artillery for 3 days. Stating that Turkey wants to cause fear in the people by bombing many parts of Kobanê, Dêmo said that they wanted to create a ground to enter the region. Demo said, "We, the YPG/YPJ, as the Military Council, will stand by our people. We will protect our people. Just as we have defended this peoples against the massacre since 2012, we will defend it again. The AKP-MHP fascist government's goal is to avenge the defeat of ISIS. Before these attacks they were targeting our high ranking friends who fought ISIS with drones."

'WE HAVE RESPONDED, WE WILL RESPOND AGAIN'

"We, as the YPG/YPJ, SDF and the Military Council, are determined not to let our people go through massacres again. We promised our martyrs," said Demo and continued: "The enemy is attacking us with all their might with drones and warplanes. We responded to this before, we will respond again. We will defend ourselves. These attacks against us are not new to us. We know that the Turkish state is hostile to Kurds. They openly say this on TV and on social media. They openly said that they will not allow even 4 Kurds coming together, not even in North Africa. The enemy wants a great war in Kobanê just like it wanted war in Efrîn, Serekanîye and Girêspî. They are preparing to attack us. We have responded before and we will respond again."
