ANKARA - Stating that the Imrali isolation has turned into an act of hostility towards Kurds, HDP Vice Co-chair Tayip Temel called for complience with law and addressed Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag, saying, "Lawyers visit must be allowed in İmralı."

 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputies started a justice watch in front of the Ministry of Justice demanding that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan meet with his lawyers which continues on its 4th day. HDP MPs Tayip Temel, Abdullah Koç, Kemal Peköz, Muazzez Orhan, Celadet Gaydalı and Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, who marched towards the Ministry of Justice, were blocked by the police at the Dikmen Gate of the Parliament.

 

Stating that they were ordered not to allow the justice watch, the police told that they will not allow HDP members to march to the Ministry of Justice. Police also threatened the journalists who wanted to follow the demonstration of the HDP MPs.

 

TEMEL: WE WILL INSIST ON THIS JUSTICE WATCH

 

Stating that it is the 4th day of the Justice Watch, Temel said: "We encountered a new measure today. We were blocked by the police who said we were not allowed to march to the Ministry of Justice without any written decision or a legal basis. We are standing here to protest these arbitrariness, unlawfullness and illegal practices. We will make a detailed statement on the isolation and the critical situation in İmralı in the parliament today. We will insist on continuing the Justice Watch with determination. We once again saw that the isolation in İmralı has turned into a form of government. We are still emphasising that the problems in this country should be solved through solution, dialogue and democratic means.However, the actor who will play the most important role in this issue has been under absolute isolation for the last two years. This lawlessness led to the growth of war policies in Turkey, the imposition of the coup mentality on the entire society in the person of the current government, and the war policies to enslave the society and all mechanisms inside and outside. The AKP-MHP government has reflected its war policies, which is its only shelter, to all social segments and to all neighboring countries."

 

TECRİT KÜRT DÜŞMANLIĞINA DÖNÜŞTÜCALL FOR COMPLIENCE WITH LAW

 

Stating that the isolation turned into an act of hostility towards all Kurds, Temel said: "We were going to go to the Ministry of Justice and call for complience with the law, however we were not even allowed to that. This is full scale unlawfullness. We repeat once again, and very clearly. HDP will continue to make these calls despite all interventions. Lawyers must be allowed to go to İmralı and see Abdullah Öcalan. The path to a solution must be paved. The concerns that started after the CPT visit should be addessed as soon as possible. Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag and other institutions of power are responsible for this. We call upon Bekir Bozdağ once again; Bekir Bozdag should make a statement regarding the issue and the lawyers of Öcalan must be allowed to see their client."
