GAZİANTEP - Citizens who stayed outside in the freezing cold in the Sulumağara District of Îslahiye, where the fault line passes, called for tents, coal, stove and wood.

One of the centers where the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes in Pazarcık of Maraş caused heavy damage was the Îslahiye district of Gaziantep. The urgent need of the people in Sulumağara Neighborhood of the district at the foot of the Amanos Mountains is coal. On the Islahiye-Hatay Road, in the Sulumağara District, which is on the fault line route, the earthquake that broke the left lane of the road caused heavy damage to the houses at the bottom. In the neighborhood where many houses have collapsed, there are ruins of the destroyed mosque and some houses and workplaces. In the neighborhood where 80 people lost their lives, the people pulled the bodies out of the rubble by their own means. The urgent need of the people in the neighborhood, where the supplies are randomly distributed, will be shelter and fuel to protect themselves from the cold.

'GOVERNMENT IS NOT HERE'

Speaking about the situation, Rahşan Uçar, one of the residents of the neighborhood, said: "Do not bring dry food, but hot food here because we cannot heat the food anywhere, because there is no coal and stove. All the residents of the neighborhood are out now due to the fault line passing through the neighborhood, and the tent sent is very limited. Most of the clothes are for children. We don't get clothes for adults. Aid comes from the people and benefactors. We haven't seen anything from the state here. There is no AFAD."
