ANKARA - Journalists imprisoned in Sincan Prison expressed their condolences for those who lost their lives in the earthquake and said: "Our call is that journalists should report news for the benefit of society."

Mesopotamia Agency (MA) and JINNEWS reporters, who were arrested on October 29 as part of the Ankara central investigation and put in Sincan Prison, sent condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquakes in Pazarcık of Maraş and Elbistan. In the message of the journalists, “This is not a disaster, it is a massacre. Our call to our journalist colleagues in the field is to report news for the benefit of society. We also convey our feelings of solidarity from here.”

'WE HAVE THE ANGRY OF THE MASSACRE'

The journalists stated that they have been following what happened on television and newspapers since the first moment of the earthquake, and they shared the following message: “The current picture shows us that this is not a disaster, but a massacre. What happened after the earthquake reveals the dimensions of this massacre. We are getting through the pain and anger of this massacre. We organized aid for the prisoners in the prison, including us, to the earthquake area, in solidarity; however, the prison administration introduced various obstacles to prevent this solidarity, but the insistence of the prisoners overcame the obstacles.”
