NEWS CENTER- The Syrian Democratic Council condemned Turkey's policies aimed at changing the demographic structure in the region and said: "More than 70 percent of Afrin's people have been displaced."

The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) made a statement regarding Turkey's policies aimed at changing the demographic structure in the region.

Warning once again about Turkey's demographic change policies, MSD said: "Since the beginning of the February 6 earthquake disaster, MSD has used all its political and diplomatic facilities to serve the Syrian people affected by the earthquake. In this context, it made many attempts to deliver humanitarian aid through border gates, and encouraged the establishment of both civilian and public initiatives in Syria and the Autonomous Administration regions.

AID OF THE AUTONOMOUS ADMINISTRATION BANNED

The statement continued:

“The gang groups affiliated with the invading Turkish state banned the aid of the Autonomous Administration, which reached the door in a short time. These groups and the interim government defended their policies towards Syrians despite the Turkish state's proven failure to fulfill its responsibilities to citizens in Turkey.

Turkey's domestic policy or AKP press stated that the Turkish earthquake victims should be rescued first; however, the crime committed against Syrian earthquake survivors in northwest Syria represented the policy of the Turkish state; however, gang groups affiliated with Turkey did not receive the support of the Autonomous Administration, ignoring the calls of the Civil Defense Boards. But for humanitarian, moral and national duty, we tried to help even though we knew these terrorist groups had no faith in them.

'WE STRONGLY CONDEMN DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGE'

We strongly condemn these demographic change policies implemented by the Turkish state against the Kurds in northwest Syria. We call on the international community to intervene and to pressure the Kurds not to migrate from their real places. In its current situation, more than 70 percent of Afrin's people have been displaced. On the other hand, we warn that the Turkish state should finance the aid provided by international parties to the Syrians. Likewise, we condemn the Turkish state's bombardments against Northern and Eastern Syria. The Turkish state has targeted the village of Mehmûdiyê and many vehicles with drones(SİHAs) in the last two weeks.

Despite its emphasis on national dialogue, the Damascus government exploited this disaster for its narrow political interests, refusing the help of national initiatives. The policies of the Damascus government are primarily responsible for the destruction of the humanitarian and economic conditions of the citizens. In the past, MSD has called on all forces and parties in Syria to put aside their conflicts, to form a democratic front for dialogue and to fulfill the UN Resolution 2254. MSD also stated that the Syrian national dialogue is a strategic option and that there should be active political representatives from all components of society.

THE ACCOUNT OF BLOCKED AIDS SHOULD BE HELD

We express our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the earthquake, and a speedy recovery to the injured, and state that those who blocked the aid should be held accountable. We call on all national democratic forces to unite, establish an active mechanism and follow up the humanitarian aid sent to the region. On the other hand, we call on the SDF to increase its struggle and not miss the opportunity to reduce the suffering of the Syrians.”
