RIHA - Stating that Turkey targets civilians in its attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria, journalist Ciwana Cuma stated that all peoples united against the attacks.

Following the action against the General Directorate of Security in Ankara on October 1, Turkey's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria, which were launched on October 4, continue. In the attacks, which continued with warplanes, Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones) and artillery fire, oil, electricity and water facilities, as well as public service areas such as schools and hospitals, and civilian settlements were targeted.

Guarantor states and other global powers in the region are silent about these attacks by Turkey, which also target civilians. The people of Northern and Eastern Syria continue to react with protests to Turkey's attacks and the silence of the world's countries in the face of these attacks.

Ronahi TV reporter Ciwana Cuma, who works as a journalist in the region, reported the developments so far and the latest situation in the region.

'CIVILIANS ARE BEING MURDERED'

Stating that Turkey targeted the civilian population as well as the infrastructure systems of Northern and Eastern Syria, Ciwana Cuma said: “Turkey's attacks started with a workplace in Hesekê. In those attacks, 4 civilians who came to Hesekê from Turkey's oppression in Serêkaniye were seriously injured. Two hospitals built for the COVID-19 epidemic in Kobanê and Derik were also bombed by Turkey. The bombed areas are not only military areas, but also civilians and living spaces. In the attacks of the Turkish state so far, 15 civilians have lost their lives and 15 citizens have been seriously injured. In the attack on a house in Girdahol village of Tirbespiye, a father of 7 children lost his life, while his 12-year-old child was seriously injured, losing one of his eyes. Yesterday, the Turkish state targeted the village of Xalîde in Eynisa and murdered a woman, a mother of two children. Children were also seriously injured. The attacks are not limited to civilians; hundreds of livestock were slaughtered in the Xanaserê village of Derikê."

'PEOPLE UNITED AGAINST ATTACKS'

Adding that Turkey wants to force the people of the region to migrate and settle here by bombing their living spaces, Cuma said: “Kurdish, Turkmen, Assyrian, Arab and Chechen people are uniting and reacting against Turkey's attacks. The people respond to Turkey, which wants to occupy the region, by saying, 'We are here, we will not leave our lands.' The people insist on not surrendering their status. "The people express their reactions with actions and protests in the streets every day."

ANGER AT THE SILENCE OF GUARANTEE STATES

Cuma also commented on the silence of the guarantor states in the region in the face of Turkey's attacks. Cuma stated the following on this issue: “The people no longer have confidence in the guarantor states. Although Turkey commits war crimes by targeting living spaces and civilians, international powers are silent. The people realized that those forces were not in the region to protect them. Not only the guarantor states, but all the states of the world are silent about these war crimes of Turkey. For this reason, the public is reacting angrily to both Turkey's attacks and this silence.”

Drawing attention that the attacks coincided with the anniversary of the international conspiracy against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on October 9, Cuma said: “Previously, during the week of the conspiracy, Turkey occupied Serêkanî and Girêsipî. We are in the week of October 9 again and again Turkey has started attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria. Just as they occupied Serêkaniyê and Girêsipî with the approval of the guarantor states, the USA and Russia, today they approve Turkey's attacks. Turkey is attacking living spaces and civilians, committing massacres, in front of the eyes of the guarantor states and the whole world, but they are all silent."

Stating that SDF also responded harshly to Turkey's attacks, Cuma said: “Democratic Syrian Forces (QSD) responded very harshly to Turkey's attacks in Shehba, Afrin, Tiltemir, Serêkanî, Eynîsa and Kobanê. Turkey suffered many losses as a result of SDF's legitimate defense."
