ŞIRNEX - Stating that the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan must end in order to end the conflicts and deaths, Peace Mothers said, “We are all ears for news from İmralı. We all need a single word from İmralı."

 

There has been no news from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Hamili Yıldırım, Veysi Aktaş and Ömer Hayri Konar, who are held under severe isolation conditions in İmralı  Type F Closed Prison, for more than 32 months. While reactions against the isolation policy continue, the campaign launched internationally with the motto "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, political solution to the Kurdish issue" is also spreading from country to country. Many world-famous writers, politicians, journalists and intellectuals have supported the campaign so far.

 

Condemning the isolation, members of the Şirnex Peace Mothers Council called on all segments of society to oppose the isolation.

 

'THE ISOLATION SOULD BE ENDED AND THE WAR SHOULD BE ENDED'

 

Kıymet Ecar (50), one of the Peace Mothers, stated that the government resorted to isolation in İmralı as part of the ongoing war policy and said: “We have not heard from Mr. Öcalan for three years. If Öcalan had not been in prison, this war and oppression would not have continued this way." 

 

Stating that the isolation of Öcalan is aimed at all humanity, especially women, Ecar said: “A person like him does not belong in prison, he does not deserve this. If the isolation were not so severe today, perhaps this war and conflict would not have occurred. His family and lawyers are prevented from seeing him because they know that if there are people coming and going to Imrali, this war, which affects every segment of society, will not continue. The key to peace in the Middle East lies in Imrali. Lift this isolation. Not only the Kurdish people, but all people who want freedom and peace need to say stop to isolation. The isolation should be lifted and this war should be ended."

 

'ONE WORD OF ÖCALAN CAN STOP THE WAR'

 

Stating that only Öcalan has the power to stop the ongoing war, Kumri Öner (60) said: “This war will not stop without Mr. Öcalan. Like every society, we want to see among us the person who is the pioneer of this society. We want your freedom. If Mr. Öcalan is free, we will also be free from this oppression and oppression. If the isolation is lifted, our children will no longer be slaughtered and we will no longer receive news of death. A single word from Mr. Öcalan can end this war and oppression." 

 

Peace Mother Zümrüt Çakır (64) stated that the isolation in İmralı caused war, death and unrest and Çakır said: "The war and deaths will end if Öcalan's physical freedom is achieved because of this war, people are being massacred and migrating from their lands. Öcalan's freedom means equality, peace and brotherhood. Today, we all need a word from İmralı. None of us are free unless Öcalan is free."

 

'PEACE IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT ÖCALAN'

 

Hayat Uca (62), who stated that not only the Kurds but all peoples should oppose the isolation and want peace, said: "Everyone should join hands so that this isolation can be lifted. The whole world should say peace together. Our eyes and ears are on the news that will come from Imrali."

 

Stating that Peace is not possible without Öcalan, Leyla Yumruk(65) said: "We want to hear from İmralı. We want the isolation imposed on the Kurdish people in the person of Öcalan to end as soon as possible."
