AMED - Mazlum İçli, who took part in the hunger strike in prisons, stated that the second group took over the hunger strike and said: "Protect our strong and heroic resistance."

Mazlum İçli, who was held responsible for the death of 4 people in Amed(Diyarbakır) during the Kobanê protests and was sentenced to 124 years in prison despite the evidence that he was at a wedding 140 kilometers away on the day of the incident, went on a rotating hunger strike for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. In the message he sent through his family, İçli stated that the second group took over the hunger strikes they started on November 27.

Drawing attention that the hunger strike actions launched in support of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign will continue until February 15, İçli said: "Our primary goal is to end the isolation imposed on our leader. We have never accepted the isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan and his friends. We will not accept it from now on either because we know very well that; Mr. Öcalan is a pioneer of freedom, peace and democracy.”

Calling on all segments of society, İçli said: “While this strike is a warning for some segments, our people and those who want peace should support this resistance. We say; Let's strengthen our unity, we are beautiful and strong with our unity. We are strong with our unity. We are in the second group together with Bahattin Erkaplan. This is our call to the Erkaplan family and the Kurdish people, support our strong and heroic resistance, give your support and everyone should be sensitive. I greet everyone with the spirit of resistance. No one is free unless our leadership is free. Everyone should know this reality."
