COLEMÊRG - Prisoner relatives, who called for the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, said: "Problems will be resolved in the first meeting with Mr. Öcalan."

"Justice Sit-in" was launched in Izmir, Istanbul, Amed, Wan, Mersin and Adana by the relatives of the prisoners to demand the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been held under heavy isolation in İmralı Type F High Security Closed Prison and has not been heard from for 34 months. continues. Relatives of prisoners living in Gever (Yüksekova) and Şemzînan (Şemdinli) districts of Colemêrg drew attention to the violations in prisons and stated that the problems would be solved by ensuring the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

'A MEETING WITH ÖCALAN SHOULD BE HELD'

Rafya Geylani, the mother of Mustafa Geylani (52), who has been detained in Elazığ High Security Prison No. 2 and has been detained for 25 years, stated that she starved her children's bodies because the problems in the country were not solved. Geylani said: "The health problems occur in prisoners with every hunger strike. Many organs of prisoners are damaged due to hunger strikes. Despite all this, they went on strike again for a solution. Authorities must immediately find a solution to these problems and ensure that Mr. Öcalan meets with his family and lawyers."

Stating that the economic and political problems in the country will be resolved if negotiations are held with Abdullah Öcalan, Geylani said: “If negotiations are established with Mr. Öcalan, there will be no bloodshed. "Everything will be resolved in the first meeting with Mr. Öcalan. The pressure increased when the prisoners started a hunger strike in prisons. All the prisoners' belongings are confiscated and their rooms are raided arbitrarily. The prisoners went on hunger strike because they did not accept the isolation and pressure in the prison. They take our children to prisons far away from us. My wife hasn't been able to see her son for about 5 years. They should end this pressure and immediately hold a meeting with İmralı and pave the way for a solution."

'SILENCE LEADS TO DEATH'

Muhsima Yaşar, whose two daughters are imprisoned, also called for awareness for the hunger strike in prisons. Muhsima Yaşar, mother of Dilgeş Yaşar, who has been detained in Trabzon Beşikdüzü Prison for 8 years, and Gever Co-Mayor Remziye Yaşar, who was dismissed and replaced by a trustee, said, "If we remain silent, silence will lead to death."

'A DELEGATION SHOULD BE SENT TO IMRALI'

Calling on all segments of society that have a conscience and see themselves as human beings, Yaşar said: “They should send a delegation to İmralı and find out what the situation of the people there is. Our children will end their strike and the way for a solution will be opened with the delegation that will go to İmralı. All states, people and authorities must condemn this situation and find a solution to prevent deaths from occurring. As mothers, we have always demanded peace and we reiterate this demand."

A CALL FOR THE ACTIONS

Referring to the "Justice Sit-in" that started in the cities of Turkey and Kurdistan, Yaşar said: "All patriotic and human rights defender citizens, especially the families of prisoners, should support the action. Everyone should take care of the watch. No one should leave captive families alone. Those who remain silent about the situation of the families who are protesting today because their lungs are hurting will experience the same thing tomorrow. For this reason, everyone needs to support the protests before any deaths occur. Do not remain silent."
