ANKARA - Speaking at the 100th month commemoration of the Ankara railway station massacre, DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları stated that they did not bow to fascism despite the massacres and that they would continue to fight for peace, massacre and brotherhood.

Those lost in the ISIS attack that spread to the Peace Rally held in front of Ankara Train Station on October 10, 2015, were commemorated on the 100th month. 10 October Peace Association, Ankara Peace and Democracy Forces attended the commemoration in the area where the massacre took place, along with Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları, Confederation of Public Employees' Unions (KESK), Socialist Reestablishment Party (SYKP), Human Rights Watch Association (IHD).

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TURKEY…

Speaking at the commemoration, 10 October Peace Association Co-Spokesperson Mehtap Coşgun reminded that one of the defendants arrested within the scope of the crime against insanity charge was included in the file where the fugitive defendants were tried, and for the first time in Turkey, the characteristics of the crime against insanity were subject to trial. Coşgun said: “In this context, the October 10 Massacre is being exhibited in an exhibition that brings together the public with firsts in terms of Turkey's political history and judicial history. Currently, within the scope of the punishment, the trial of 17 defendants, 16 of whom are escapes and one is in detention, continues with a separate file at Ankara 4th High Criminal Court. In the action we have been participating in for 8 years, the process of prosecuting the public officials who were negligent in the massacre and the politicians who were responsible was also expressed. Unfortunately, We witnessed that the panel participated in this last court process and that those of us with disabilities were added as defendants, so to speak, and fathers who wanted 'justice' were removed from the courtrooms. Justice, which we did not encounter in courtrooms, was not manifested in the conscience of the public."

THEY MURDERED OUR REVOLUTIONARY PEOPLE IN ANKARA AND SURUÇ

DEM Party Co-chair Hatimoğulları said: “They massacred peace doves in Ankara and our revolutionary brothers in Suruç. These massacres were carried out for the fascist regime currently being established in Turkey. We see how massacres are carried out to establish fascism in Turkey. We call out to the government once again; If you want to establish fascism in Turkey by massacring us, you are wrong. Despite the massacres, we did not bow to fascism, we did not swear allegiance as a society, we are standing against it. They were doves of peace, for the peaceful solution of the Kurdish issue, for the citizens who could not find a bread, for the rights of women subjected to violence, for all of us, for all the oppressed and exploited, they flew into the sky in this square. Each of them is a star in the sky. We will not forget them, we will not let them forget. Let us promise that we will strengthen the determination to fight until we bring the struggle for peace, equality and brotherhood to its end and victory. Our struggle will continue until we establish a free, equal and democratic country.”

The commemoration ended with the slogans "Don't forget October 10, don't let it be forgotten" after the representatives of the participating institutions took the floor.
