ADANA - Pointing out that HDK has launched a campaign "1 million signatures for peace", HDK member Ramazan Şancı called on everyone to build brotherhood and peace together.
A statement was made in Adana as part of the "1 million signatures for peace" campaign launched by the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) on 16 January. The statement was held at the Human Rights Association (IHD) Adana Branch building and was attended by representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations.
HDK member Ramazan Şancı stated that the ongoing wars in the Middle East cause humanitarian, economic and ecological crises. Stating that the security and violence policies pursued especially in issues with historical and social roots such as the Kurdish issue impose an insoluble solution, Şancı said that the attacks on North and East Syria are not only against the Kurdish people, but also against a life and governance model shaped on the basis of peace and democracy.
'LET'S FIGHT TOGETHER'
Drawing attention to the campaign initiated by HDK, Şancı said, "Today, we make a call to everyone who defends peace: Come, be the subject of this struggle, let's build the equality, brotherhood and peace of the peoples together. Peace is not only the common need of a region, but of all humanity. The voice of peace must transcend borders and echo throughout the world. For this reason, let us struggle together for a future that will end the pains of war and ensure peace, justice and freedom of peoples and beliefs."
The representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations who took the floor in the statement said that they support the "1 million signatures for peace" campaign, that peace must be socialised and that there can be no peace without a solution to the Kurdish issue.
