ISTANBUL - Ahmet Yaman, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson of the Swiss Kurdish Assembly, who has 65 days left with Abdullah Öcalan during the International Conspiracy against him, said that Abdullah Öcalan's birthday means the rebirth of Kurds.
The 76th birthday of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was born on April 4, 1949 in the village of Amara in the Xelfetî (Halfeti) district of Riha (Urfa), continues. While the celebrations of Abdullah Öcalan's birthday, which is identified with the day of resurrection for Kurds, continue, Ahmet Yaman, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson of the Swiss Kurdish Assembly, who stayed with Abdullah Öcalan for 65 days during the International Conspiracy, evaluated the meaning of April 4 for Kurds. Reminding that Abdullah Öcalan has been physically imprisoned for 26 years, Yaman said, “We wish that the new process would lead to his physical freedom.”
Stating that it is possible for Abdullah Öcalan to be physically free if the process is successful, Yaman said, “It would have been important for us to celebrate his new birthday together. But if the process that has just begun continues without interruption and achieves success, I believe that those days are near.”
FIRST MEETING: I WAS VERY EXCITED
He said that he met Abdullah Öcalan at Moscow Airport on November 12, 1998 when he was the Italian representative of Eniya Rizgariya Neteweyî ya Kurdistan (ERNK) / Kurdistan National Liberation Front. Stating that he had traveled to Moscow with an Italian official for Abdullah Öcalan upon the request of the Italian government during the conspiracy process, Yaman said, “It was very exciting for me. When we landed at Moscow Airport, we were met by the Russian intelligence service. There was a long walkway at the old Moscow Airport. Then we passed through many doors and finally entered a hall. The Leader was sitting alone in that hall. He knew our friend who had been assigned by the Italian government. They had met him before in Damascus. This was the first time he met me. As soon as he saw us, he stood up and greeted us with a smiling face. We hugged each other and at that moment my excitement calmed down a bit. It was as if he and I had been friends for forty years.”
Expressing that Abdullah Öcalan thought of his people under the most difficult conditions, Yaman said, “He is a person who has devoted himself to the freedom of the Kurdish people and has gone through many stages for this purpose, not only that, but has also developed many strategies, theories and analyzes for the liberation of all the peoples of the world. During the time I was with him, I saw these things closely in his approach to people and his translation; I am a close witness to the attempts of the world intelligence to take him captive in the most difficult conditions. I saw him think of us and his people without the slightest concern for himself when all these things happened.”
'HE REPRESENTS THE REBIRTH OF HUMANITY'
Referring to the meaning of Abdullah Öcalan's birth, Yaman said, “First of all, the birthday of the Leader should be handled with a different approach than the classical birthdays. Because the birthday of the Leader is the rebirth of the Kurds. In fact, when we look at it more broadly, we can state that he represents the rebirth of humanity as the only leader who brings an alternative thought and solution proposals to the fact that capitalist modernity has made the world uninhabitable and brought humanity and nature to the stage of destruction, and as the sole representative of the democratic society paradigm based on the foundation of nature and humanity.”
Emphasizing that Abdullah Öcalan is a person who devoted himself to humanity, Yaman said: “I heartily congratulate the Leader on his birthday on April 4. We are proud to have such a leader. He is a wonderful person in every aspect. He is someone who has devoted himself to humanity. It is a great loss for the peoples of the world that a person who offers solutions to the problems of all the peoples of the world and also for the Kurdish people has been in captivity for 26 years. I hope we will celebrate his birthdays in an environment where he is free. Everyone should do their best for the new process to succeed. I hope that he will join us physically as soon as possible and I say 'Happy birthday, my Leader'. I wish him a long and happy life.”
