NEWS CENTER - Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council Member Xelef Shengalî stated that special war policies are put in effect in the region and that the KDP has created new partners in the hostility against Shengal.

 

The AKP-KDP-backed attacks of the Iraqi army on Shengal, which started on April 18, were frustrated by the resistance of the people. The Iraqi army, which has withdrew as a result of the talks with the Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council and the Êzidxan Asayish, continues its military presence at many points. Protests against the Iraqi army continue in Shengal. KDP, whose plans have failed, continues to target Shengal. Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council Member Xelef Shengalî, who made evaluations about the attacks of the Iraqi army and the role of the KDP, said that special war policies against Yazidis are put in effect.

 

KDP PRESSURES IRAQİ ARMY TO ATTACK

 

Shengalî stated that the "Shengal Agreement" was not only between Hewler and Baghdad, and this has been admitted by Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, pointed out that the KDP put pressure on the Iraqi army to attack Shengal on AKP's request. Shengalî said: “The KDP wants to enter Shengal using PKK as a pretext. Nobody told the KDP to get out of Shengal. The KDP fleed on its own accord. They fled, leaving the Yazidis alone. Everyone saw it. They withdrew 2,000 peshmerga from Shengal. They did not fire a single bullet at ISIS. If peace is achieved in Shengal today, they will find a way to disrupt that peace, but they can't do that easily anymore. Now there are politicians, journalists, fighters and the Autonomous Administration for Yazidis. No one can come and destroy autonomous Shengal in one night like they did back in 2014." 

 

ATTEMPT TO LIGUIDATE YAZIDIS

 

Shengalî stated that the KDP has created new partners regarding their hostility against Shengal and said, “The Yazidis are conscious and they are not defenseless. No one can break this will. Autonomous Shengal was founded with the blood of Yazidi youth. To eliminate the Êzidxan Asayish is to liquidate the Yazidis. No enemy is strong enough to finish us off. We have been resisting for 1460 years. Much greater forces have attacked us before, but they could not finish us. Yazidis are not against the Iraqi government. We were the ones who supported them. Iraq owes to the Yazidis. The Yazidis have never considered themselves far from Iraq. We have a special respect for the Iraqi government. But we have respect for Iraq, which stands by their word. We have no respect for those who are servants of states hostile to the Yazidis." 

 

KDP'S PROPAGANDA TO DISPLACE YAZIDIS 

 

Expressing that the KDP is propagandasing to displace the people of Shengal in the region, Xelef Shengalî said, “Plans are being made for this attack for more than a year. Their primary aim is to force the Yazidis into immigration, but the Yazidis did not migrate."

 

Expressing that special war policies are put in effect in Shengal, Shengalî said, “The reality in Shengal is the Autonomous Administration. Nobody should give credit to the black propaganda carried out against Yazidis. They made every effort for this. Those who carry out propaganda against the Yazidis are given $15. This is a part of the special war policies. Yazidis should not fall for this anyone. If they want to learn the truth, they should listen to the Autonomous Administration.”
