HAKKARİ - Osman Arslan, who lives in Yüksekova district of Hakkari and quit after working as a ranger for 6 years, called on the rangers who were driven to the front line in the war to lay down their arms.
The attacks launched by Turkey on the Zap and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region on April 17 in partnership with the KDP continue. Osman Arslan, the former head of the rangers who lived in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari and laid down arms after working as ranger for 6 years, called on all the rangers to lay down arms.
'I FELT IT WAS BENEATH ME'
Stating that he regrets being a ranger, Arslan said that he worked as a ranger for 4 years and as the head of rangers for 2 years. Arslan said, “The state called me one day and asked me to act as a spy on what was going on in the village. Just then, there was a conflict in the village and people died on both sides. I laid down my gun that day because I felt it was beneath me and I couldn't bear it anymore.”
CALL MILITARY AND POLICE FAMILIES
Calling on the rangers participating in the operations to lay down their arms, Arslan said, “The ranegrs are losing their lives in this war, their children and families are devastated. For that alone, the rangers must lay down their arms. No matter how much salary and status the state gives, this should not be accepted. There can't be a war where brother kills brother. All I ask of them is to lay down their arms. I was a ranger for 6 years and now I regret it greatly. I also call out to the families of soldiers and police; They should not appear on television and say that let their children die in order to keep the government alive. They should call for this war to stop."
'STATE IS LOSING ITS POWER'
Arslan said: “The Kurdish people do not want anyone's rights, they only fight for what is theirs. The Kurdish people are paying a great price for their language and identity. There is no success in the operations that have been going on for more than a month anyway. Day by day, the state is losing its power in the war. This war is making people poorer. Because all the resources of the country are used to bomb the mountains.”
