DİYARBAKIR- Bismil Public Prosecutor Nilgül Kürkaya, who is conducting the investigation regarding Kurdish journalists, has been assigned to the İzmir Public Prosecutor's Office, and the judge who made the arrest warrant was assigned to Sakarya.

 

With the 2022 Judicial and Administrative Judicial Main Decree of the 1st Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, posts of a total of 5,426 judges and prosecutors, of which 5 thousand 75 are from the judicial justice and 351 from the administrative justice, were changed. Public Prosecutor Nilgün Kürkaya, who is conducting an investigation against 22 people, including 20 Kurdish journalists, is among the prosecutors who have been appointed to other posts.

 

Kürkaya, who was appointed to Diyarbakır Bismil District Public Prosecutor's Office with the decree of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors on June 17, 2020, conducted the investigation launched against journalists in Diyarbakır this year, although her place of duty is in Bismil. It is not clear why Kürkaya, who issued a warrant against the journalists even though she doesn't even have an office in the court was assigned to this case even though there are prosecutor's who are conducting the investigations in scope of the Anti terror Law, while Yunus Emre Kılıçlar, the judge that made the decision to arrest the 16 journalists, is among those who were promoted.
