NEWS CENTER - Cizîr Regional Bar Association and Cizre Region Human Rights Association are preparing a file on Turkey's chemical weapons attacks.
The People's Defense Center (HSM) Command stated that 17 guerrillas lost their lives on October 18 as a result of the use of chemical weapons in Turkey's attacks on Zap, Avaşîn and Metina in the Federated Kurdistan Region. 5 out of 17 guerrillas were from Rojava. Cizîr Regional Bar Association of Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration and Cizîr Region Human Rights Association visited the family of HPG guerrilla Osman Ebdê (Serdem Agirî), who lost his life in the chemical attack. After the visit, he announced that they would start legal work on chemical attacks.
'WE OBTAINED A LOT OF DOCUMENTS'
Speaking to Hawar News Agency (ANHA), Cizîr District Bar Association Member Mihemed Emin Neîmî stated that they started to prepare a file on the use of chemical weapons and banned weapons. Neîmî said, “The file will cover the use of chemical weapons in the Turkish state's attacks on Medya Defense Areas and Northern and Eastern Syria. Families, independent activists and journalists also support this work, which is prepared in many dimensions, We obtained a lot of documents in this context. We will also put the video published by HPG and Gerîla Tv in the file and use them.”
FILE WILL BE SUBMITTED TO RELEVANT INSTITUTIONS
Expressing that the file will be completed in a short time, Mihemed Emin Neîmî stated that they will submit the file to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the United Nations (UN) and human rights institutions after it is completed. Neîmî said that they will also apply to the International Court of Justice in The Hague for Turkey to be tried in the international arena.
