ISTANBUL - Mahmut Tat, who was extradited to Turkey by Sweden, was arrested.
Kurdish refugee Mahmut Tat, who was sentenced to 6 years and 10 months for allegedly "being a member of the PKK" in Dersim in 2015 and sought asylum in Sweden, was extradited to Turkey. Tat was taken into custody by the police on November 22 in Sweden and was taken to Mölndal. Tat, who was detained here, was brought to Turkey on December 2.
Tat, who was held at the Istanbul Airport Police Department, was transferred to the Gaziosmanpaşa Courthouse yesterday after the procedures were completed.
Based on the finalized prison sentence against him, Tat was arrested after the proceedings and sent to Metris Prison.
