ANKARA - HDP MPs condemned the silence of the Ministry of Justice regarding the isolation in Imrali and called for a solution to be negotiated as soon as possible.
The demonstration, initiated by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) demanding that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan meet with his lawyers, continues on its 15th day. Members of Parliament, Kemal Bülbül, Abdullah Koç, Muazzez Orhan, Sıddık Taş, Hüseyin Kaçmaz, Erdal Aydemir, Kemal Peköz, Celadet Gaydalı, Remziye Tosun and Nuran İmir were at the parliament Dikmen Gate with the banners "The law should be applied in İmralı" and "Isolation is a crime against humanity" made a statement in.
‘MEETING MUST BE HELD WITH ÖCALAN FOR A SOLUTION’
Condemning the prevention of their going to the Ministry of Justice, Bülbül said: “The front of the Ministry of Justice has been blocked with tins. The Ministry of Justice became a tin ministry. The tin ministry can't hear our voices from the cans. Such a tin approach, such a rusty, dirty approach is out of question. Turkey's 3rd largest party's MPs, executives, mass, democratic institutions and organizations, thousands of lawyers, thousands of academics defend social peace, but defending this social peace is reflected as an arrest against Mr. Fincancı and expulsion to academics; therefore, the isolation system applied on the island is not unique to the island. It is an isolation peculiar to the Middle East, Turkey and Kurdistan. This isolation is a crime, and the trial of this crime will one day be done in front of law, justice and democracy. Right now we may be in isolation. The racist, monist system that is currently isolating us can feel great security. This is a false trust, a criminal trust without any legal basis. Law, justice, universal thought, human rights and freedoms display that isolation is a crime. The isolation must be ended as soon as possible and a meeting with Mr. Öcalan must be held for a democratic peaceful solution."
