ANKARA - Stating that the biggest obstacle to democracy and peace is the isolation in İmralı, HDP Ağrı MP Abdullah Koç said: "We know that a wind of democracy and peace that will blow in the Middle East passes through İmralı."
The demonration, initiated by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs to allow PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to meet with his lawyers, continues on its 28th day. MPs, Ali Kenanoğlu, Kemal Peköz, Muazzez Orhan, Abdullah Koç, Erdal Aydemir made a statement in front of the Parliament with posters that read "Isolation is a crime against humanity" and "A meeting should be held in İmralı".
'WIND OF PEACE IS PASSING THROUGH IMRALI'
HDP Ağrı MP Abdullah Koç, speaking in the statement, said: "We know that a wind of democracy and peace that will blow in the Middle East passes through Imrali. Unfair and unlawful practices should be ended immediately. We demand that Mr. Öcalan and other prisoners, who are not allowed to meet with his family and lawyers, be allowed to meet with their lawyers and families in accordance with the constitutional right of 'equality' and the law of execution. We want our request to be fulfilled immediately.”
