ISTANBUL - The EHP Istanbul Provincial Organization protested by placing a black wreath in front of the Red Crescent, which sells tents.
The Labor Movement Party (EHP) Istanbul Provincial Organization protested in front of the Red Crescent Branch Office in Kadıköy against the Red Crescent, which sells tents to go to the earthquake area for money.
EHP members laid black wreaths in front of the Red Crescent. Speaking at the demonstration, EHP Spokesperson Özge Akman pointed out that 21 days have passed since the earthquake and that the people's tent needs are still not met.
'THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD RESIGN'
Stating that the people remained under the collapsed buildings, but on the second day of the earthquake, Kızılay sold tents, Akman said: "Here is the disgrace of the century. Public institutions and organizations that see a tent for our people a lot and do not waste a day to sell those tents are a disaster. This government does not regret the loss of 50 thousand of our people. Just as it has not taken any precautions for 20 years, it does not worry about precautions for the future. Their job is only to silence those who object."
While Akman was making a statement, the police attacked the party members. While the party members were shouting 'the government should resign', they were beaten by the police and detained. It was not known where Akman and his party members, who were taken into custody.
