GAZİANTEP - The family, who could not receive tent assistance and bought the moldy AFAD tent, which was given to another earthquake victim as an extra, said: "We have no other choice."
After the earthquake that took place in Maraş on February 6, there are still thousands of earthquake victims who cannot provide tents. While some earthquake victims stay in makeshift barracks, others have to buy tents.
Kadir Keş and his family, who could not access the tents distributed by AFAD for two weeks after the earthquake, bought the moldy AFAD tent, which was given to another earthquake victim, by paying money.
Father Keş, who is afraid that his children will get ill because of the moldy tent, said: “We are staying in this moldy tent with my two children. We have no other choice.”
THERE IS A STOVE NO WOOD
Stating that they could not find wood for the stove they set up in the moldy tent, Keş said: “We go to the Forestry Directorate and he directs us to the local authority. We're going to the mayor. He says, 'There is no self'. We are trying to find it on our own. There is no regular distribution. We go to the relevant places, they say 'we sent it by truck', but it did not come to us. Where should I go? It sends to some people a lot, and to others it does not send at all”.
