URFA - Drawing attention to March 8 International Women's Day, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "A mother has been waiting for justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse for two years", while mother Emine Şenyaşar said: "I have been persecuted for two years."
Şenyaşar family, who came from Suruç in front of the Urfa Courthouse, started their sit-in in front of the banner reading "Justice for the Şenyaşar family".
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached 716. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018.
The Şenyaşar family started the sit-in by lighting candles as part of the action "Light a candle in your window", which was initiated for those who lost their lives in the earthquake that took place on February 6th. Speaking in front of the courthouse and drawing attention to the March 8 International Women's Day, Ferit Şenyaşar said: “A woman and a mother have been waiting for justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse for two years. Everyone knows this injustice, everyone sees it. The judiciary, which is responsible for providing justice, is left helpless and cannot fulfill its duty. The perpetrator is an MP of the current government who murdered two children and her husband of this mother in the hospital. The judiciary is not fulfilling its duty because it hides behind the president.”
THE FILM WILL BE SCREENED
Expressing that the sit-in actions will be in its second year tomorrow, Şenyşar said: “The struggle of mother for justice has been published in a book and has been the subject of a documentary. This documentary is screened at international film festivals. A documentary screening of the mother's struggle will be held tomorrow at 14:00 in the Urfa Bar Association Tahir Elçi conference hall, for the second year. We are waiting for all sensitive non-governmental organizations and citizens.”
Emine Şenyaşar said: “We want justice for everyone. I've been living here for 2 years, I was persecuted, how many times they abused my son. The whole world should see how my children were slaughtered."
On the other hand, the Republican People's Party (CHP) Haliliye District Presidency visited Emine Şenyaşar for the March 8 International Women's Day and conveyed their solidarity messages.
