In Malatya, one of the cities most affected by Maraş-centered earthquakes, the needs of the earthquake victims are met by volunteers, not by AFAD, Kızılay, the governor's office and the district governor's office. According to the data of Malatya Governor's Office, 32 thousand 195 of 131 thousand 991 buildings in the city and 90 thousand 347 of 372 thousand 321 independent sections will be demolished immediately, are destroyed and heavily damaged. In addition, it was determined that 71 thousand 549 residences and 14 thousand 397 commercial houses were destroyed, to be demolished immediately and severely damaged.
TENT QUEUES
While a total of 50 thousand tents have been distributed in the city, where the destruction was heavy, the tent needs of thousands of citizens have not been met. Citizens who apply for tents to the application stands set up by the district governorships of Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt, the central districts of Malatya, form long queues. Although a month has passed since the earthquake, the queue continues in front of the application centers.
22 THOUSAND FAMILIES ARE WAITING FOR TENT
According to the data of the district governor's office, 12 thousand people applied for tents in Yeşilyurt district and 10 thousand people in Battalgazi district, however, tents are still not accessible in the city, and after the earthquake, immigrants returned, so the need for tents is expected to increase.
