DİYARBAKIR- Prosecutor of the investigation, who has not prepared the indictment of 16 arrested journalists for 9 months, said: "Digital documents are too many."
22 people, including 20 journalists, were detained in the operation carried out in Diyarbakır on 8 June. During the operation, the production companies Pel, Piya and Ari, where the journalists work with their homes, and the JINNEWS office were also searched. Police blockade continued for more than 30 days in Piya and Ari Yapım under the name of "search", and even their employees were not allowed to enter the building. After 8 days of detention, 16 of the journalists who were taken to Diyarbakır Courthouse were arrested.
Although it has been 9 months since the detention of Dicle Fırat Journalists Association Co-chairperson Serdar Altan, JINNEWS Director Safiye Alagaş, Mesopotamia Agency editor Aziz Oruç, Xwebûn Editorial Manager Mehmet Ali Ertaş and journalists Zeynel Abidin Bulut, Ömer Çelik, Mazlum Doğan Güler, İbrahim Koyuncu, Neşe Toprak, Elif Üngür, Abdurrahman Öncü, Suat Doğuhan, Remziye Temel, Ramazan Geciken, Lezgin Akdeniz and Mehmet Şahin, their indictments have not yet been issued.
JUSTIFICATION OF JUDGE
Stating that the prosecutor with whom he spoke on the subject, Resul Temur, the lawyer of the journalists said: "The prosecutor stated that Digital materials are too much and they need to be recorded. The casting of the materials will be completed after the Diyarbakır Police Department, which was damaged in the earthquake, is moved to a new location.
SAME REASON FROM THE GOVERNOR
Amed Bar Association Chairperson Nahit Eren also met with the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor regarding the completion of the investigation of the journalists. The Chief Prosecutor gave the reason that the indictment was not ready: "There are too many digital documents, there is nothing we can do".
