İZMİR - The earthquake victims living in Bayraklı Temporary Accommodation Center started to be forcibly removed from the shelter with the decision of the İzmir Governor's Office. It was learned that while some containers were emptied, the goods were taken to AFAD's warehouse.

Containers in Bayraklı Temporary Accommodation Center, which was established by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the Izmir Governor's Office, are being emptied after the earthquake that occurred in Izmir on October 30, 2020. It was claimed that 550 containers in the region were emptied for the earthquake victims who migrated to the city after the Mereş-centered earthquake.

In the notification sent by the governorship on Monday, March 6 to the earthquake victims, whose sheltering problem is still not resolved, the containers were asked to be emptied within a week. Early this morning, the riot police, who came to the region, began to forcibly remove the earthquake victims. It was learned that the goods in some of the emptied containers were sent to AFAD's warehouse.

THROWED OUT

Nuray Koçtürk, who has been in the container for two years, said: "After the earthquake, we first stayed in a tent. Then they settled us here. Now they are forcibly removed from here. Where will I go at this cost of living? I don't work, I live with the help of my relatives. I have nowhere to go. They forced us out with the police force. They put us in the truck and took us. They threw us headlong into the street. We are on the street now. They didn't even let me take any of my personal belongings."
