Reminding that the enthusiasm for Newroz has turned into a commemoration due to the earthquake this year, Amed Deputy Remziye Tosun said: “We have an election ahead of us. In this process, there is an earthquake on the one hand and a heavy isolation on Mr. Öcalan on the other. In this Newroz, we must fulfill our duties and responsibilities by filling the field with the slogan of our people against isolation, Newroz, Freedom, everywhere. Emphasizing the historical roots of Newroz, Êlih Deputy Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki said, “Newroz is a resistance for the Kurdish people. Especially Amed Newroz has an important place with the participation of millions. It may not be enthusiastic for those who lost their lives in the earthquake, but I believe that our people will fill the Newroz area, express their condemnation against the isolation, the system and denial, and reflect the spirit of a great rebellion.
