AMED - 14-year-old Y.D. Someone who tortured him identified the 3 police officers from their photos.
As part of the investigation carried out regarding the abduction and torture of Y.D. (14), who was stopped by the police on March 21 in Amed's Licê district, on his way home with a 10-year-old friend, Y.D. He was called to Lice Gendarmerie Command for identification. According to the information received from the child's family; Y.D., who went to the Lice Gendarmerie Command for a photographic identification, identified 3 policemen who tortured him in the presence of the prosecutor without his lawyer.
On the other hand, it was alleged that three police officers, including a police officer, were detained in Ankara, after a photographic identification.
5 POLICE WERE DETAINED
Nahit Eren, President of Amed Bar Association, shared a post on the subject on his Twitter account. Eren said: "In the investigation launched against 5 police officers regarding the torture and ill-treatment of 14-year-old Y.D. in Lice, 2 police officers were detained in Lice district and 3 police officers were detained in Ankara because they were outside the province due to the report they received. We are following the investigation process."
BACKGROUND
14-year-old Y.D., who was returning home with a 10-year-old friend, was stopped by the police in the Lice district of Amed on March 21. While leaving his 10-year-old friend, Y.D. abducted by vehicle. The hands and feet of the boy who was tortured by the police were tied. Y.D, who was forced to say that he is Turkish, was then threatened with death by saying, "Swear to the Kurds, sing the National Anthem". Y.D. then he was left in the swamp by the stream with his mouth and hands tied. The child, who was taken to the hospital after a villager noticed him at night, is at risk of losing one of his eyes. After the torture of the child was reported by the Mesopotamia Agency (MA), the Lice Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident.
