ANKARA - Green Left Party Co-Spokesperson Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, speaking at the introductory meeting of women candidates, said: “We have promises. As women of the Green Left Party, we will change the one-man regime together."
The Greens and the Left Future Party (Green Left Party) introduced the female candidates to be nominated as parliamentary candidates in the May 14 elections. Green Left Party Co-Spokesperson Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz attended the launch event held at the Headquarters of the Chamber of Civil Engineers (IMO) in Ankara. Women representatives of parties in the Labor and Freedom Alliance and women representatives of non-governmental organizations attended.
In the hall where the meeting was held, banners with the election slogan of the Green Left Party Women's Council "Dîsa jin(always women), disa jiyan(always life)" were hung. The hall was filled with slogans of "Jin jiyan azadi", accompanied by the Kurdish song "Dîsa jin, dîsa jiyan".
The event started with a moment of silence for the memory of Jîna Emini, who was murdered by the Iranian regime, and the women who were killed in the struggle for freedom and as a result of male violence. In the event, a cine-vision about women's political struggle was screened. The speeches of imprisoned female politicians Leyla Güven, Gültan Kışanak, Sebahat Tuncel and Figen Yüksekdağ were applauded for a long time.
