NEWS CENTER - Turkey is changing the demographic structure by placing paramilitary groups and their families instead of those who had to immigrate from Girê Spî, which it controls.
Violations of rights continue in the regions that Turkey controls in Northern and Eastern Syria. The demographic structure of Girê Spî, which is one of the cities under its control after Turkey's attacks in 2019 with paramilitary forces, is being changed. According to the news of the Hawar News Agency (ANHA), 21 thousand people have been settled in Girê Spi since April 2022, and 9 thousand 181 people in the last 3 months. It was stated that the people settled in the city were paramilitary groups and their families. It was reported that in April 2022, 12,757 people from Aleppo, Idlib, Homs and Eastern Ghouta were passed through the Girê Spi border gate and settled here.
In the news, it was stated that Turkey has built houses on the west side of Girê Spî and in the town of Eyn Eros with the financing of associations in Qatar, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
According to the data of Girê Spî Canton Council, after the city came under the control of Turkey, more than 100 thousand people had to migrate from the city.
