DİYARBAKIR - Despite the warnings against a possible flood, the tent city established in the Tigris Valley has been removed.
Despite all the warnings for the earthquake victims in Amed(Diyarbakır), which is among the 11 provinces affected by the Maraş-centered earthquake, the tent city established in the Tigris Valley was completely removed. Despite the warnings of the TMMOB Diyarbakir Provincial Coordination Board that it carries a high risk due to its location on the river bank and that it may face flooding, the tent city consisting of 4 thousand 200 tents was completely removed today after it was evacuated in the flood on March 15. The dismantling of the tent city was carried out by soldiers and guards just like its establishment.
Claiming that the evacuation of the tent city was a temporary evacuation for precautionary purposes, the Diyarbakır Governor's Office said, "It has been decided that our earthquake-affected citizens staying in the tent city on the Silvan road will be temporarily placed in the Green Crescent Rehabilitation Center as a precaution in the light of meteorological data, and the evacuation of our citizens continues under the coordination of our governorship by our relevant institutions. After the normalization of the conditions, our citizens will be allowed to settle in the tent city again."
