AMED - Stating that the operation against journalists, lawyers, politicians, theater actors and representatives of non-governmental organizations, Amed Bar Association President Nahit Eren said: “We cannot say that it is an independent operation disconnected from the political agenda of the country. The operation is an act of intimidation to the Kurdish voters."
Evaluating the decision of the Diyarbakır 3rd Criminal Court of Peace to arrest more than 200 people, including journalists, lawyers, artists, politicians and representatives of non-governmental organizations, in 21 provinces early in the morning within the scope of an investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Amed Bar Association President Nahit Eren said that the operation is not independent of the country's agenda.
'THE OPERATION IS THE INTERMINATION ON THE KURDISH VOTER'
Pointing out that the operation was carried out during the election process, Eren said: “Unfortunately, we had concerns about such developments during the election process. But it is clear that the operation is not independent of the election process that journalists, lawyers and civil society activists are in. It is clear that the operation is not independent from a pre-election intimidation or it is an intimidation to HDP voters, to Kurdish voters."
