ISTANBUL - At least 17 people, including HDK, HDP and Green Left Party Youth Council members and executives, were detained in raids on some houses in Istanbul on the grounds of an investigation.
As part of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, police raids were carried out in many districts including Başakşehir, Esenyurt, Arnavutköy and Küçükçekmece. At least 17 people, including People's Democratic Congress (HDK), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) Youth Council members and administrators, were detained during the raids.
Devin Doğa Ayaz, Hülya İlyas, Serkan Şengül, Eylem Taşdemir, Mustafa Şişman, Serhat Tokuş, Arafat Emekçileri, Tufan Emekçileri, Erkan Özmen, Cevdet Biçer, Yunus Aslan, Berfin Koçak, Hividar Özdemir, Ömer Gülsül, Mervan Beyret, Adem Özgen and Onur İlbars are detained and were taken to the Istanbul Police Department on Vatan. While a 24-hour restriction was imposed on the detainees to meet with their lawyers, due to the confidentiality decision in the investigation file, no information could be obtained about the reason for their detention.
