Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan continues her visits in Wan(Van), where she came for Eid al-Adha. Today, Buldan continues to visit to the Solidarity, Unity and Culture Association for Families Who Have Been Lost in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER) Branch, Arrested and Convicted Families and Assistance Association (TUHAY-DER) Branch, Aryan Art Academy and Arsisa Language and Research Culture Center.

 

'AKP COMMITTED A CRIME'

 

Drawing attention to the violations in prisons during his visit to TUHAY-DER, Buldan said: “Many problems are experienced from postponing release in all prisons in Turkey, sending people to distant prisons despite the fact that families live in different places, exile, health problems and communication problems. It should be noted that; The biggest problem today is the isolation problem in Imrali Prison. For more than two years, Mr. Öcalan has not been heard from, and his family and lawyers have not been consulted. It is a period when this country does not comply with the existing laws that it has enacted. Of course, there are many reasons for this isolation against Mr. Öcalan, one of the most sensitive points of the Kurdish people. We are in a period when Mr. Öcalan's right to family visits is restricted and not enforced and the AKP commits a crime in this regard. Isolation is a human rights issue and has been practiced in Imrali Prison for a long time. This has now become an issue that permeates the entire society. We do not accept this isolation and that the isolation should be lifted as soon as possible and that Mr. Öcalan's lawyer and family visits, which are the right of everyone, should be made as soon as possible, as in all prisons."
